I would still be a little skeeved out by drinking the reclaimed toilet water. Would want to run that through a reverse osmosis filter myself, if only for psychological reasons.
And the next time Elon says something mean or crazy, maybe someone should ask him if he wants to be helped, heard, or hugged? It doesn’t even take money to acquire that kind of sincere and effective engagement.
I don’t think anyone can relate or know. He is on such a different level financially and intellectually that he is just an anomaly. And, I can only imagine how hard it is for him to try to relate to the world when you are constantly treated like a god.
Not easily dismissed, Tesla's are everywhere. Elon Musk once cared enough to contribute to the greater good. I do not know him personally, but he appears to be severed from family, community and friends. The toxicity of drugs and adoration may be filling that void, but like all things Earthly, gravity will put him and his creations in their place.
He's brilliant and I believe the folks who say he's extremely difficult to work for and can be a SOB. So was Jobs.
He has Asperger’s, a form of autism. 'Many people with Asperger’s syndrome have intense and highly focused interests – some channel towards a successful career.' Fits him to a T.
I believe he's wasting his talent at X aka Twitter, but he has gobs of money and can do whatever is legal that he likes with it. I'd rather he make another Tesla or SpaceX, or make Tesla even better. Too bad I don't get to tell him what to do :)
I think that there is a bit of a personality disorder here so that to him, in the moment, certain statements and actions that seem irrational to the rest of us seem rational to him. Remember that that same irrational thought transformed the global auto industry, space flight, and satellite communications. I think that on balance the failures have been relatively minor. As for drugs and money (which, itself can act like a destabilizing drug) definitely factor into the mix. He treats them as yet another realm to explore. Unfortunately, he does seem to cause collateral damage (people, institutions, thought) in his actions.
Hi, and thanks for the link!

He's just a schmuck with an ego that is uncontrolled.
